It's been a little while since I took some time to address your questions, but the reports section always brings up tons of inquiries! So before we dig deeper into the Reports section, I wanted to clear up some frequent questions and misconceptions from the Basics tab.
With that in mind, lets get directly to your questions about the Reports page!
Hi there, I'm in charge of setting up reports for my team as an administrator, and I understand I'll have my own login information in eSB4. Will I still be able to set up scheduled reports and favorite reports for team members? And what exactly is the difference between a scheduled report and a favorite report?
Great question to kick us off, since you are right! As an administrator, you will access eSB4 using your own user id and password combination. Using your account, yes, you will be able to set up Scheduled Reports for any member of your team that you are an administrator for, using the same process you always have for setting up scheduled reports.
Onto the Favorite Reports then. Setting up a Favorite Report still falls to the whim of the user and is not something that can be set up by the administrator for another user.
So the difference then is this. Scheduled report is a report that you've scheduled to be emailed to you (and any other email address you've entered in the "To" field). A favorite report will not be emailed to you, but instead resides on your dashboard for quicker access. Both of these features are intended to help you quickly access information on your account.
Hello! Right now, in eScoreBoard 3, I receive several reports per week using your scheduled reports feature. Am I going to have to re-schedule these reports when we go to eSB4?
How annoying would that be? You have all these reports that you're use to getting and BAM! we switch to eSB4, and all these reports disappear forever. I totally understand your concern, but I assure you this will not happen. All of your scheduled reports will be automatically moved over to eSB4 so that business as usual for you will not be disrupted. If you think that you are missing a report after "the switch," contact the help desk immediately. We'll be ready to address any questions or concerns.
So, now that I understand the difference between scheduled reports and favorite reports, can I schedule a report that I have marked as a favorite?
Ok, nobody actually emailed me that question, but I've heard it mumbled before. And the answer? Of course! The easiest way to do this is to click on the favorite report that you are interested in scheduling and run the report per normal. Once the report is viewable, you would click the Schedule This Report Quicklink on the right side of the report page.---------------------------------------------------------
